During the 7th Space War, Jamil Neate fought as an ace Newtype Gundam pilot for the United Nations Earth, clashing several times with his rival, the Space Revolutionary Army commander Lancerow Darwell. However, the 7th Space War ended with the infamous colony drops that destroyed the world.
Haunted by his own guilt over his role in the catastrophic final battle, Jamil became the captain of the Vulture ship known as the Freeden, determined to locate any Newtypes and ensure they never be forced to endure what he went through. Before long, the Freeden would rescue a young girl named Tiffa Adill and meet a young boy named Garrod Ran, both of whom would join his crew.
