In many alternate worlds, most notably in sci-fi and space genres, the starfighter has always been the integral part of any battlefleet, and oftentimes becoming a key deciding factor in turning the tide of any engagement. So, what ideas and suggestions would you guys think of when designing and forming a starfighter corps of any fleet and nation? What types of craft would they use? How large of a squadron would they have to be? How big of an air arm? Do they have ground attack roles assigned for their pilots, or if they are separated from the Fleet Air Arm or maintained its own chain of command and lineage? Many of us of would like to know your opinions!
