A series of massive ring worlds created by the Forerunners to contain and study the alien parasites known as the Flood, the Halo Array had another sinister purpose: to act as a super weapon that would wipe out all life throughout the galaxy as a last resort against the Flood. The Halo rings would be at the center of events that would alter the course of the Covenant War.
