The grandfather of Mariemaia Khushrenada, child monarch of the Mariemaia Army, Dekim Barton officially served as regent of the Mariemaia Army. However, Mariemaia was merely a figurehead for Dekim, the one who was really in charge of the Mariemaia Army, and as it later turned out, Dekim was connected to Operation Meteor.
