The Chiss Ascendancy was an oligarchic autocracy and empire of the near-human Chiss species located inside the Unknown Regions of the galaxy. It was highly secretive and strictly isolationist to outsiders, preferring a libertarian approach to the wider galaxy. It was regarded as mostly a legend even within the Unknown Regions.
